A new political platform – Amazone Group has emerged with the primary goal of ensuring political integration and mobilisation across Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), for Hon. (Dr.) Aro Moshood Abiodun’s re – election as the representative of Ikorodu Constituency II.
The inaugural of the group in Igbogbo on Thursday, drew a large crowd of passionate supporters, political enthusiasts, and community leaders from across the LCDA.
The group was convened by Mr Olushola Owolabi, popularly known as “Omo Teacher”, with six young and vibrant grassroots mobilisers as coordinators – Fathia Kolejo (Ward C1), Taofeek Olawale Ipaye (Ward C2), Comr. Hassan Akinyemi Aliu (Ward C5), Odunayo Idowu (Kolabo) (Ward C2/C3), Adeyemi Sharafadeen Kehinde (Ward C2) and Adeyemi Surajudeen Taiwo (Ward C2).

According to the convener, Mr Owolabi, the Amazone Group originated from a political circle he established before the 2019 general elections. He added that, over time, the group expanded and evolved through consistent engagement and community outreach until it metamorphosised into the Amazone Movement — a coalition now jointly led by the six coordinators.
He emphasised that the central aim and objective of the coalition is political integration and mobilisation across Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, towards creating a strong, united, and dependable front in support of Hon. (Dr.) Aro Moshood Abiodun’s reelection and the continued progress of the area.
He admonished members to be active members of the APC, attend Ward and LGA meetings regularly, and to uphold unity and discipline within the group, adding that the Amazone Group is not just a political outfit but a community-driven movement dedicated to positive change and sustainable representation.

“By connecting with residents across wards, CDAs, and streets, the group is not only strengthening the re- election campaign of Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun, but also reaffirming the unity and progressive spirit that define the people of Igbogbo/Baiyeku,” the Amazone Group Convener added.
It was gathered that the lawmaker, Hon. Aro Moshood had no prior knowledge of the group’s formation.
When contacted, the Media Director/Personal Assistant to the Ikorodu Constituency II lawmaker, Mr Razaq Kabiru Babatunde, expressed pleasant surprise and heartfelt appreciation to the Convener of the group and its Coordinators, describing the Amazone Group as a humbling testament to genuine love and trust from his people.
In attendance were Hon. Wasiu Olowu, the Coordinator of AMA Team Smile in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA among others.
